A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be rectified by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

If you have a shared web hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in the account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be activated without any difficulty if you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in your account will be shown in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small symbol conveniently located right next to each of them. With only one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate the feature through the contextual menu that will appear. If any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
